Winston McEwan

Winston McEwan is a fully trained and qualified plastic surgeon in Hamilton. He has vast experience in reconstructive, cosmetic and hand surgery.

Originally from the South Island, Winston graduated from Otago Medical school in 1996. Most of Winston's specialist plastic surgical training was carried out in Christchurch and Middlemore hospitals and he received his FRACS (Plastics) in 2005 (Fellowship Royal Australasian College of Surgeons) also gaining the prestigous Mentor Prize for aesthetic surgery.

After undertaking further postgraduate training in Perth (breast surgery, reconstruction and microsurgery) then spent 6 months in Zambia working in more general surgery. Winston returned to NZ in 2007, commencing work at Waikato Hospital . Soon after returning Winston commenced private practice, initially with Patrick Beehan in Thackeray St before he opened surgical consulting rooms opposite Waikato Hospital in Horne St.

Winston was the head of department for plastic surgery at Waikato Hospital from January 2010 to November 2012 and is also presently the Waikato supervisor for plastic surgery registrar training through the Royal Australasian College of Surgeons.

He has a particular interest in helping in healthcare in developing countries and spent all of 2009 doing voluntary work in Zambia / Africa at various Mission Hospitals.

Winston is married with 6 children.

Dr. Muhammad Zeeshan Ahmed

Dr Zeeshan Ahmed graduated (MBBS) from Pakistan in 2004 and completed his Fellowship training in Plastic & Reconstructive Surgery (FCPS) from the College of Physicians & Surgeons Pakistan in 2011. In 2012, he joined the Plastic Surgery department at Waikato Hospital, Hamilton. He holds general registration with Medical Council of New Zealand. He is acknowledged by the Australasian Skin Cancer College as "Accredited skin cancer doctor" and is a member of the Skin Cancer College Australasia. He has presented research work at various national and international conferences including NZAPS,WSCC, ASPS-PSC, PAPS.

Dr. Nathan Harris

MRCS(Ed)

Originally from Wales, Nathan Studied Medicine at The University of Leeds, UK qualifying in 2000. His General Surgical training was in the UK receiving MRCS(Ed) (Member of the Royal College of Surgeons Edinburgh UK).

Nathan moved with his family to New Zealand in 2007 settling in Hamilton in 2010. Nathan is married to Sheena and they have 3 growing boys.
Nathan continues to work in the Plastic Surgery department at Waikato DHB.

Heather Le Cocq

MBBS BSc MRCS(Eng) FRCS(plast)

Plastic, Reconstructive and Hand Surgeon

Heather is a fully trained and qualified UK/NZ plastic surgeon with full MCNZ Vocational scope who works at Counties Manukau DHB as well as in Hamilton.

 Originally from the UK, Heather’s medical school training was at St Bartholomew’s in London; after house surgeon jobs she worked in anatomy demonstration at Guy’s hospital, then going on to do a general surgical rotation. She then specialized in plastic surgery at The Royal London Hospital, Great Ormond Street Hospital, and the Royal Marsden before moving to Leeds in Yorkshire for a 6 year plastic surgery training scheme.

 Fellowships have included being military trauma fellow in QE2 Birmingham during the Afghanistan war, fellow at Waikato DHB specializing in hands and microsurgery, and hand fellow at Counties Manukau DHB. She has resided in New Zealand for 6 years and enjoys living and working between Auckland and Hamilton.

 Heather has spent time in the UK Royal Auxiliary Air Force as well as time doing missionary work in Papua New Guinea on several occasions.

 Heather specializes in melanoma and all forms of skin cancer as well as hand surgery.
